LEED for Home Preliminary Rating Services
OnPoint’s staff will work with your staff to establish a strategy to select and incorporate LEED for Homes measure into the project. This preliminary rating of the house establishes the goals of the project and creates a list of LEED for Homes measure that the project is attempting to achieve.
Construction Inspections
OnPoint specialists perform a series of on-site inspections throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to LEED for Homes guidelines.
Construction Site Visits
To help ensure that selected programs measures have been installed and meet program standards, OnPoint will visit the project work for site and performance inspections. During these visits, the OnPoint Field Technician will perform a thorough inspection of these projects. These visits will examine the LEED for Homes environmental and energy measures incorporated in these homes.
Performance Testing
During the initial construction phase, OnPoint specialists inspect insulation and performance test the duct systems to verify that the heating, cooling and duct systems perform as they were designed. At the end of construction, the entire home is tested for leakage using a specialized testing device known as a “blower door.” These tests are conducted to ensure the integrity of the shell of the house and the duct system.
Training of Builder and Subcontractors
OnPoint Field Technicians will meet with builder to assist the builder and their subcontractors with LEED for Homes program measures.
Certification
Once your home has been determined to meet LEED for Homes standards, OnPoint will issue your LEED for Homes certificate.
